2nd BELBaR Annual Workshop

Registration Form (word)

The EC project BELBaR (Bentonite Erosion: effects on the Long term performance of the engineered Barrier and Radionuclide Transport) is arranging an open workshop at the “Parkhotel du Sauvage” Hotel in Meiringen (CH) June 16th – 18th, 2014.

The aim of the workshop is

  • Dissemination of results obtained within the first two years of CP BELBaR
  • Establish a network of specialists from various areas of the world and with a range of expertise relevant to the project.

The format of the workshop is based on presentations of work relevant to the topics of the BELBaR project, namely

  1. bentonite erosion,
  2. colloid radionuclide & host rock interaction,
  3. colloid stability,
  4. conceptual and mathematical models and
  5. consideration of colloids in the safety case

The presentations will be followed by a topical discussion at the end of the workshop. The workshop is open to scientists from outside and within the BELBaR project. Anyone working in the field is encouraged to participate.

At this stage, the plan is to publish the presentations on the BELBaR website (www.belbar.eu), but not to make formal proceedings.

Pleasae send a confirmation of participation to Thorsten Schäfer (thorsten.schaefer@kit.edu) and Andrea Wettstein (doa@nagra.ch) before April 30, 2014 using the registration form. Also indicate whether or not you intend to give a presentation, as well as the title of the presentation.
