In June 2009 SKB decided to apply for a permit to build a final repository for Swedish spent nuclear fuel at the other site, in Forsmark.
What will happen now?
The site investigation project in Oskarshamn was completed at the end of 2009/2010. It remains, however, some minor repairs in the field that can be done only when the ground is free of snow and frost. We expect to finish this work in the spring.
